Founded in 1997, the mission of the East Cambridge Savings Charitable Foundation is to support organizations that have an impact in areas of affordable housing, financial literacy and education, family and youth services, and senior citizens. Giving is targeted to the communities served by East Cambridge Savings Bank and identified primarily as:  Arlington, Belmont, Cambridge, Chelsea, Medford, Somerville, and Waltham.

In addition to charitable giving, East Cambridge Savings Bank employees volunteer hundreds of hours each year, serve on numerous nonprofit boards, and organize clothing, food, and toy drives. For the past 3 consecutive years, East Cambridge Savings Bank has been recognized as one of the Top 100 Charitable Contributors in Massachusetts by the Boston Business Journal.
